Strength & Conditioning

Class length: 60 minutes

Our Strength & Conditioning Class aspires to every piece of its name. We hold horsepower and a deep gas tank in equal regard. Furthermore, we respect the origin of "conditioning" as a psychological term. Small, supportive groups of 3 to 10 are taken through a thorough warm-up, workout, and cool-down with the common theme of teaching our bodies and brains something of value. We take our time to focus and learn, resisting the gravitational pull of Ego and Dumb-Hard-Work. Continually varied, but never random. Always progressing towards "more". Our class sessions feature a balance of strength, energy system training, skill development, and critical accessory work to ensure sustained and sustainable progress.

Strength of character

Power of patience

Intensity of focus

Depth of understanding

Capacity for change

Beginners Strength

& Conditioning

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 4:30pm

Class length: 60 minutes

Our beginners class is offered as an option for those looking for a welcoming and patient environment to learn the basics of functional fitness, without the push to develop more complex skills. More involved gymnastics progressions and Olympic lifts are rare, though not excluded as a rule. These class times are the most likely chances to see kids tagging along to the gym for their parent's workout, but Beginner's class is not the "kids table", or a designated stepping stone into our regular S&C class.  Focus, confidence, and a positive attitude are required.  Self-imposed limitations can be left at the door.

GRIT

Fridays 6:00pm

Class length: 60-90 minutes

Do your daily life, work, relationships, or leisure require effort? Are you practicing that effort? Are you intentionally developing the skill of trying when the way forward becomes difficult, tedious, or obscured?

If our Strength & Conditioning class features "bus bench" workouts, done in anticipation of a scheduled future adaptation, then our weekly GRIT class is a "park bench" effort. A chance to explore our capability, to provoke difficult questions, to test out ideas. We utilize challenges, tests, teamwork, penalty, reward, uncertainty, and unfairness. Players are expected to tie tightly together the skills of exertion and introspection- to add Thinking to the Doing in an effort to better mine that most precious and sought-after material...Becoming.
